Uttarakhand Board (UBSE) Examination System
Our institution is committed to academic excellence, integrity, and student development. We strictly align our academic evaluation model with the curriculum, guidelines, and standards established by the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE). Our examination framework is designed not only to assess knowledge but also to foster critical thinking, discipline, and practical application.
Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE): Assessment at our school is an ongoing process rather than a single end-of-year event. Throughout the academic session, students undergo regular unit tests, class assessments, monthly evaluations, and term-end (Half-Yearly) examinations. This structured approach helps identify learning gaps early, allowing teachers to provide timely academic support and remediation.
Standardized Marking Structure: For non-practical academic subjects, the assessment follows a 100-mark distribution pattern. The annual board or final written examination accounts for 80 marks, testing theoretical understanding and problem-solving skills. The remaining 20 marks are assigned to Internal Assessment, which includes classroom participation, assignment completion, periodic tests, and project work.
Practical & Application-Based Subjects: In subjects requiring practical expertise—such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, and Computer Science—the exam structure emphasizes hands-on experience. The theoretical exam carries 70 marks, while 30 marks are dedicated to practical assessments. Practical exams evaluate laboratory performance, project files, experiments, and an oral viva-voce conducted according to UBSE norms.
Passing & Promotion Criteria: To qualify for promotion to the next higher class or to pass the board examinations, students must achieve a minimum of 33% marks in each subject. Crucially, UBSE guidelines require students to clear the theoretical and practical/internal components independently, ensuring a well-rounded competence in both domain knowledge and application.
Grading System & Performance Indicators: In addition to numerical scores, student marksheets reflect an official 8-point grading scale (ranging from A1 for top performance to F for essential repeat). This grading framework provides a broader, standardized measure of student achievement across all schools under the state board.
Focused Board Examination Preparation: For students in Classes 10 (High School) and 12 (Intermediate), the school provides a specialized support ecosystem. We conduct comprehensive Pre-Board examinations that mirror the actual board environment in timing, question paper format, and evaluation strictness. Additionally, students work through past UBSE question papers and model test papers to build exam confidence, master time management, and refine writing techniques.
Transparent Reporting & Parent Consultation: Evaluation results are compiled systematically and shared with parents during regular Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs). Progress reports offer detailed insights into a student's strengths and areas needing improvement, ensuring a collaborative approach between teachers and parents for student success.
